Classes and Events

We host a range of classes and events to pique the interest of any cheese lover. From cheeseboard workshops to cheese and wine classes, to scraping cheese on Raclette Sundays or melting cheese for our cozy Fondue Nights, we love serving Richmond the best cheese! Have you always dreamt of a cheese vacation?  (Us too) We're going to England this fall and we'd love to have you join us!  We've partnered with a seasoned cheese lover and traveler, Anna Juhl, who owns Cheese Journeys for an October trip. Cheese Journeys has been written up in the New York Times and Food and Wine Magazine for the incredible behind-the-scenes experiences they provide. The cheese community is a small one and I've worked with Anna's daughters, Leah and Rachel, in their capacities at Essex St Cheese, for well over a decade.

Our communal guided tasting includes 5 cheeses and a wine (or beer) pairing for each. Your cheesemonger will talk about each cheese, the paired wine or beer, and basic pairing principles. Grab a spot at one of our six person communal table tastings, eat some cheese, and maybe make a friend or two.

Summer Sunday Sips

Join us every Sunday this summer for Summer Sunday Sips! We’ll feature a different wine by the glass each week that’s refreshing, quaffable and, even better, is at a happy hour price!

Summer Cheese + Wine Bash!

We're celebrating National Wine and Cheese Day early and often! Join us on Wednesday, July 23rd for some social summer cheese and wine pairing shenanigans with Jenissa from Free Run Wines. Visit four stations, each with a different monger favorite summertime pairing! We'll have extra nibbles out to enjoy while you ponder which pairing (and monger) you love the most!

Boards & Board Games

We’re hosting our very first boards and board games night on July 30th from 5:00-8:00! We’ll have a few “Fromage” boards out, but feel free to bring your own game! Relaxed and fun and open to all!

Social and Networking Events

We love hosting groups who want to learn a thing or two about cheese and wine, in a casual, fluid setting that lends itself to chatting.
